breathing life into a family winery
The wine industry today is very different to what I remember as a child.
Growing up on a vineyard, I recall hard work and long days, but never the stresses that come with keeping a brand above water in a fiercely competitive market.
Admittedly, there were less wineries in the 70s, 80s and even the 90s, however, the landscape is a world away now.
With the larger chains dominating the industry, it means smaller, family concerns need to harness a point of difference to engage and captivate the customer.
For my family’s business - Paul Conti Wines - we decided to create an annual events calendar which would not only bring people to our suburban winery, but leave them with a lasting impression of loyalty, family heritage and quality.
I have been curating events at the beautiful homestead property for nearly two decades, and each one has its own special twist - whether it’s a delectable autumn grazing table, a pulled-pork and pinot sundowner, lobster rolls and summer whites or spring jazz and robust reds.
The recent addition has been a series of luxurious long-table lunches which are hosted under the charming alfresco veranda located at the property. From curation, orchestration and styling to event management, the soirees are here for the long-haul and are very much secured as a branding staple for this third-generation winery.
